Transfer and Back Up SMS Messages from iPhone to Computer
"I want to back up my SMS messages from my iPhone onto my computer. Does anyone know how you can do this? I recently just dropped my iPhone and the screen smashed, but it still works absolutely fine. Im worried that when i send it off to be fixed that messages will be cleared. I’ve got lots of messages i would really like to keep. If anyone could help me I would be very greatful."
If you have the similar problem, don’t worry. Here I will show you an easy way to transfer and back up SMS messages from iPhone to computer.
Before we start, we need a software that can transfer SMS from iPhone to computer. Here I will use Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS. With this software, you can transfer the iPhone SMS messages to computer as a txt file or a ANTS file before your SMS box is full and you have to delete all of them to prevent iPhone rejecting new SMS receiving.
Step 1: Download Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS free trial version here, then install the software (skip if done yet). And please install iTunes version above 7.7, if your iTunes can read your iPhone, our software will.
Step 2 : Connect iPhone to your computer. Launch Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS, the SMS contacts info will display as shown in your iPhone screen automatically as fig 1. Click on single contact, all SMS records from him/she will display as fig 2 shown.

Step 3-a: In fig 1 situation, you can click button "Copy" to copy sms from all iPhone contact, then select options:
1: Choose File Type: back up to TXT file or ANTS file;
2: Choose File Path: where to store the backup file, do nothing if you choose default path;
3: Advanced Option: if you choose ANTS format in step 1, you can add a password to protect the file.
Click OK Button to finish the Copy. See fig 3.
Note: You can only copy the first 20 items for each contact in trail version.

Step 3-b: In fig 2 situation, click button "Copy" to copy sms from a single contact, select options:
1: Choose File Type: You can select TXT file format in single contact sms transfer;
2: Choose File Type: You can select .MHT file format in single contact sms transfer; This format support Print Out.
Please open the .mht file by IE, click "tools" – "internet options" – "advanced" – check "print background colors and images", then click "Print"
3: Choose File Path: where to store the backup file, do nothing if you choose default path;
Click OK Button to finish the Copy. See fig 4.
